Abstract Preparation
Format: The style should be identical to that for the JWEIA.
Use good quality white paper (A4 - 21.6cm x 29.7m) for preparing the camera-ready abstract.
Text should be typed using 10 - 12 point characters single spaced and single column.
Margins should be 3.8cm left and 2.5cm right, top and bottom.
Paragraphs should be indented 5 spaces, with a blank line above and below each paragraph.
The title of the abstract should be centered, all caps, bold typeface, and 14 point font.
4 blank lines should be left between the title and the author's name, affiliation and complete address with the latter in upper and lower case and 12 point font. Leave 6 blank lines between the address and the text.
Main headings should be bold faced, right justified and have blank lines above and below.
Illustrations and graphs that are too small or not clearly drawn for reproduction will not be accepted.
Length: Four pages maximum, including figures and reference.

Editorial Information
The official language of the Symposium is English.
Authors are invited to submit a four page abstract stating clearly its purpose, methods and conclusions.
Selection for presentation at the Symposium will be made by the Organizing Committee and these abstracts will be bound as the conference proceedings. Based on review of the abstracts, selected authors will be invited to
prepare full length papers (10 pages maximum) which will be submitted for publication as a special issue of the Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics.

Papers are welcomed in all aspects of wind engineering, especially in the areas of:
- Wind characteristics and climate
- Wind-tunnel modelling
- Computational modelling
- Full-scale measurements
- Building aerodynamics
- Vibration & Fatigue
- Disaster mitigation & Insurance
- Building Codes & Regulations
A special session on an Asia-Pacific Wind Code is planned.

Registration Information
The registration fee for the Symposium is expected to be approximately AUD$500. This fee includes all technical sessions, conference proceedings, welcome reception, lunches, refreshment breaks and conference banquet.
Accommodation Information
The Symposium will be held in the ANA Hotel, in the heart of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.
A special accommodation rate of AUD$135 per night has been negotiated with this Hotel. In addition, accomodation for all budgets is readily available in the vicinity of the conference avenue. Further details on accomodation will be available on the Registration Form.
Travel Information
Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast is Australia's internationally renowned tourist destination with a warm year round climate.
The sea offers numerous recreational activities (swimming, bushwalking, golfing..) revolving around the natural beauty of the ocean beaches and hinterland mountains.
Just one hour's drive from Brisbane, Queensland's capital city, or a one hour flight from Sydney, the Gold Coast is easily accessible.
The July average temperature range is a mild 11(deg.) to
21(deg.)C.
